About the products
Natural materials and high quality
"High-quality things age gracefully"
For the individual products, we use the best and most exclusive qualities of merino wool – a 100% natural material free from synthetic fibers and without after-treatment to achieve a Superwash quality. The yarn is therefore biodegradable and retains its grace and function for a long time. You will have a beautiful blouse even after years of use!
With merino wool, you also get a high degree of breathability, high insulation capacity, and an antibacterial function. The finished products are very comfortable to use, even in very changing temperatures, and they should be aired and only rarely washed.
Timeless knitwear and good craftsmanship
Do you want to find your own style?
Our wardrobe must be able to do a lot – contribute to the ordinary days at work, to the big party and to a casual fun evening with friends. The essential thing is that your clothes can be combined across the board, that they never go out of fashion and that you always feel well-dressed with your personal style. We have tried to offer a solution for this!
Our knitwear collection is designed to last – both in style and material. The design is sleek and minimalist with a twist of something recognizable from the 50s' colors, femininity, and fine craftsmanship details. At the same time, it is unpretentiously casual and loose in style. It can be combined with large floral garments or prints, stripes, and checks when you want to make a bigger statement in the streetscape. Dress up with a skirt and high heels!
The focus is on craftsmanship, and most of it is handmade on manually operated knitting machines in fully fashioned with beautiful and discreet details, which give an elegant and classy look to the style-conscious woman.
Our knitwear is produced in Italy
We have chosen that the production of yarn and knitting takes place in Italy, partly because we want to contribute to preserving textile crafts in Europe and partly to produce close to our primary customers.
Why Northern Italy? Italians are incredibly skilled at producing knitwear and the best qualities of merino wool. Our spinning mills have, over many years, built up a high degree of knowledge regarding yarn refinement, and serious efforts are also being made to reduce the environmental footprint. Read sustainability reports if applicable.
The merino wool primarily comes from Australia. The vast majority of wool producers are located far from DK and Europe. We hope it will once again become attractive to breed wool for yarn production in Europe, and until then, we will influence our yarn spinner to set requirements for breeders and promote a more transparent process.
Our two knitters in Italy are both family businesses. We visit the knitters approximately three times a year with our designs. We develop the final models together. The knitters represent professional knowledge and craftsmanship at a very high level.
The one company works with manually operated knitting machines and shapes the products during the process. Assembly takes place by knitting the individual parts together, and finally, the knitted products are washed and steamed. All functions are performed by the knitwear factory. The other company has electronic knitting machines, which offer some additional knitting technical possibilities. Here too, all models are knitted to shape with increases and decreases. It is not a matter of piece goods and sewing.
We produce knitwear for women in small quantities
The knitwear productions are very flexible, meaning we can order a few pieces per design. The advantage of producing in small quantities and continuously supplementing according to current demand is that we only knit the models and colors we can sell, thus avoiding discarding clothes and negatively impacting the environment.
It is more costly to produce in small quantities and especially to produce in Europe. But we eliminate a costly intermediary by selling directly to the customer, so the price is much lower than you see for similar products in stores.
Our models are produced fully fashioned, meaning that each individual product is knitted to shape with decreases and increases, precisely as it should look, and then the individual parts are knitted together. This way, we avoid cutting away and discarding material.
