Quality Knitwear – Casual no. 6

Danish-designed short knitted vest. The vest has a slightly loose style with a deep V-neck. The dropped shoulder creates a kind of sleeve.

The vest is knitted in stocking stitch and feels light and soft to wear. Ribbed hem; the sleeves and V-neck are finished with a wide stocking-stitch edge.

The colour is bright blue/sky blue melange.

Casual no. 6 is a relatively loose style that can be worn over a shirt or on its own in the warmer months.

How to wear it

The Casual no. 6 vest can be worn on any occasion – every day, at work or for a party. Dress it up or down, for example with black wide-leg trousers and heels, or wear it with a pair of worn jeans and rugged ankle boots.

Material

Material

100% extra-fine merino wool, spun and finished in Italy. The yarn is a 100% natural material, not treated with chlorine to make it Superwash, and contains no synthetic fibres. Certification: OEKO-TEX. Read more about materials and production here.

Our yarn is of very high quality and among the softest yarns available, which makes it very comfortable to wear – also because it is light, breathable and antibacterial. Although it is an exclusive yarn, it may still develop light pilling over time where there is friction, for example under the arms. It can be removed gently with a wool comb or a fabric shaver, and will diminish after a few treatments. Lay the sweater flat on an ironing board and smooth out any creases before using the shaver.

Environmental considerations

The neck label and care label are sewn on with just a few stitches and are easy to remove, after which the material is 100% biodegradable. Merino wool should be washed far less often than cotton and synthetic textiles. This means less impact on the environment. At first, wash it a little more often to help the fibres felt together and thus minimise pilling.

The sweater comes with a small skein of the yarn, so you can repair it rather than throw it away if an accident happens.

Washing and care

Merino wool is self-cleaning and does not need washing nearly as often as, for example, cotton and materials containing synthetic fibres. Avoid frequent washing, as it wears out your garment and also has a negative impact on our environment. Instead, hang merino knitwear outside to air, ideally on a day with high humidity, and it will then feel fresh and ready to wear. Feel free to experiment with how many times you can wear your knitwear before washing it. However, we recommend washing it a couple of times at the beginning to help the fibres felt together and thus minimise pilling. Read more under Material.

We recommend hand washing at approx. 30°C, i.e. lukewarm water. Use a high-quality wool detergent. Use gentle movements, then rinse in lukewarm water. Gently press out the water – do not wring. Lay the garment flat to dry on a towel, for example on a bathroom floor with underfloor heating.

Machine washing may be an option if you have a newer washing machine with a gentle wool programme at max. 400 rpm. Please note! This is done at the customer’s own risk.

The garment can be smoothed with an iron on a low heat. To avoid iron marks, you can place a damp cloth in between. You can also use the steam function on your iron or, best of all, a handheld steamer.

After use, fine knitwear is best stored on a hanger so it does not crease and is always ready to wear. If there is a risk of moths in your home, store your knitwear in a closed box with a lavender bag. A good rule is to keep knitwear that has not just been washed out in the light, as moths like dark surroundings.
